Research
The brief asked us to find a meaningful gap in an existing product — not a surface fix, but a genuine extension of its ecosystem. We explored multiple apps across categories with two lenses: small gaps with large creative opportunity, and "what if" scenarios that unlock fresh thinking.

Identify products where functional gaps are small but the creative potential is large — then find the "what if" that connects them.

Quick commerce is the next frontier of high-frequency user behaviour — the perfect space for embedding entirely new habits.

~50% quick-commerce market share, millions of daily opens, and a logistics network already built for speed and trust.

What if Blinkit's trust and infrastructure — built for groceries — became the foundation for a hyper-reliable resale marketplace?
Blinkit isn't just a delivery app — it's India's highest-frequency commerce habit. We're embedding resale right into that loop.
Trust Layer
Enter your device details and get an AI-powered instant quote — right inside BlinkIt.
Doorstep pickup
A Blinkit rider picks up your phone just like any delivery — verified & insured.
Quality check
Device is inspected at the dark store. Transparent grading with photo evidence.
Instant payout
Cash to your UPI or Blinkit wallet credit. Spend it immediately on your next order.
With the stakeholders using a common dashboard, it was imperative to identify the distinct needs of the Global Directors and General Managers, while also showing where their focus areas overlap—capturing both individual requirements and the common insights they rely on.

THE CORE INSIGHT
Existing resale platforms — OLX, Facebook Marketplace — are eroding trust. Scams, price discrepancies, long payment cycles, and poor service are universal complaints. Blinkit already solves all of these structurally: verified networks, instant payment rails, and a logistics layer built for speed. The opportunity isn't just a new feature — it's a fundamentally better resale experience.
Pain Points

IMPACT
With the key pain points & requirement identified, our next step was to pick the right approach to solve the challenges. Leveraging on reviews & feedback sessions from the stakeholders, we were able to add business value and make a strong impact.

A tab, not a feature buried in a menu
The Resell tab sits in the primary navigation — the same level as Home and Categories. This wasn't just a placement choice; it's a statement about intent. Rfb needed to feel like a first-class citizen, not an afterthought.
👉🏽
Blinkit's existing nav already has a "Print" tab, proving the pattern accepts new high-intent actions. Resell has far higher utility frequency than Print — it earns its spot.

Wallet credit as the hero payout option
Users can choose UPI payout or Blinkit wallet credit. The wallet option gets a +5% bonus — nudging users to reinvest in the Blinkit ecosystem while making the financial motivator immediately tangible.
👉🏽
Financial motivation is key. Cashify and Instacash proved that competitive instant payouts drive seller behaviour. By keeping it inside Blinkit's wallet, you create a closed-loop habit: sell → earn → spend. This is stickiness by design.
From drawer to cash — faster than a grocery order.
List your phone
Enter your device details and get an AI-powered instant quote — right inside BlinkIt.
Doorstep pickup
A BlinkIt rider picks up your phone just like any delivery — verified & insured.
Quality check
Device is inspected at the dark store. Transparent grading with photo evidence.
Quick payout
Cash to your UPI or BlinkIt wallet credit. Spend it immediately on your next order.
Everything that makes Rfb different from any resale platform you've seen before.
BlinkIt already means speed and trust. Rfb inherits that instantly — no separate app, no new learning curve.
Sell and get paid to your UPI or BlinkIt wallet credit immediately.
Every transaction is backed by BlinkIt's verified network.
Trade in your old phone and upgrade — all in one flow.
Clean, familiar interface with zero onboarding friction.
Dark store infrastructure enables fast, secure, local transactions.
Integrated into your daily shopping habit. Resale becomes routine.
Reduce e-waste. Extend device life. Easy, meaningful impact.

PROTOTYPE
When the functional gaps are small, innovation must come from reimagining the experience, extending the ecosystem, and pairing existing ideas with new ones.
Winning this challenge reinforced a way of thinking I want to keep. It wasn't about adding the most features — it was about finding the right seam in an existing product and pulling on it.
01
Constraints sharpen ideas
Having to work within BlinkIt's existing UI patterns forced better decisions than a blank canvas would have.
02
Trust is a design material
The real value of Rfb isn't speed — it's that BlinkIt already owns trust. Designing around that made every interaction cheaper to justify to the user.
03
Incentive design matters
The wallet credit +5% bonus was a small UX decision with large behavioural implications. Financial nudges deserve as much design attention as visual ones.
04
Data tells half the story
The market numbers ($219B by 2033) validated the opportunity. But the real insight came from asking why people weren't selling already — the answer was always friction and distrust.
05
Sustainability needs to be effortless
Users won't go out of their way to be sustainable. But if recycling a phone takes the same effort as ordering groceries, they will. Design the shortcut.
06
Ship the story, not just the screens
The presentation mattered as much as the prototype. Articulating the "why" behind each decision — not just the "what" — is what made it resonate with the judges.
